This Privacy Notice explains how Siddhant V Jha ("we", "us"), operator of Fluentwa (the "Service"), collects, uses, and shares personal data. For the purposes of applicable data protection law, Siddhant V Jha is the data controller.
1. Data we collect
- Account data: name, email address, hashed password.
- Learning data: speaking sessions, transcripts, pronunciation scores, and progress that you generate while using the Service.
- Support data: messages you send us for help.
- Usage & device data: log data, device identifiers, IP address, approximate location, and interaction telemetry.
- Cookies: essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember preferences.
Payment information (card details, billing address, tax identifiers) is collected directly by our reseller Paddle and is not stored by us.
2. How we use data
- To create and secure your account (contract, legitimate interests).
- To provide the Service, including generating AI feedback (contract).
- To improve the Service and diagnose issues (legitimate interests).
- To provide customer support (contract).
- To comply with legal obligations (legal obligation).
3. Sharing
We share personal data with:
- Service providers / subprocessors that host, monitor, and support the Service, including cloud hosting, database, and AI model providers, under contract and only to the extent necessary.
- Paddle, our Merchant of Record, for sale of the Service, subscription management, payments, tax compliance, and invoicing.
- Professional advisers (e.g. legal, accounting) where necessary.
- Authorities where required by law or to protect our rights.
4. International transfers
Our providers may process personal data outside your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions.
5. Retention
We keep personal data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations, or to resolve disputes. When no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, port, or object to processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent or lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. To exercise these rights, contact us via the in-app support channel. We aim to respond within one month.
7. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and least-privilege principles — to protect personal data. No system is perfectly secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Cookies
We use only essential cookies required to run the Service (authentication, session state, preferences). We do not set advertising cookies.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
10. Changes
We may update this Notice from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted in the app.
